In 2011, Carnegie & Associates published How To Win Friends and Influence People in the Digital Age, a revision of the original to adapt to the 21st century while preserving the core messages for success. Instead of this making Carnegie’s principles irrelevant, it makes them more important than ever in the field of public relations since they represent the foundation of creating the best relationships- from pitching to investors, to dealing with colleagues at work, to apologising to your partner. His compelling statement “Dealing with people is probably the biggest problem you face”, is still very true today, except the ways we now communicate have changed drastically in the new digital age. It went on to sell 30 million copies worldwide and was named #19 on Time Magazine‘s list of 100 most influential books in 2011.
